Fall 2015
Here is an extremely overdue fishing report. We are transitioning into fall here in The Florida Keys just like the rest of the country. Fall season means that water temperatures will be on the decline which should get the flats fired up. As the water temps cool the conditions will determine what the target species will be each day. Right now the water temperatures are perfect for tarpon, bonefish, and permit. The water will continue to cool with more passing fronts which will

August
August has been a spectacular month for fishing. Winds are light, seas are calm and the water is warm. It's an ideal time to pursue the big three- tarpon, bonefish and permit. Here are some highlights of the last week or so. I fished with Clinton and Leanne from West Palm. Had a great time catching some jacks, got a shot at some bonefish and Clinton landed his first tarpon. Sue and Kevin were down from Atlanta for a short vacation. Had a great time fishing with these guys- we
Early Season Tarpon
Decided to go out and see if we could find any early tarpon. Tarpon season for the lower keys is in the spring months but with the amazing warm weather we've been having the water temperature is up in the high 70's- which can trigger the "big" tarpon to start moving into the backcountry. Florida Keys Fishing in the Winter
Dec. 18th- Lots of torpedo size barracudas and big sharks on the flats right now. People often underestimate the excitement of catching barracudas on the flats- but with their explosive strikes, long runs, and acrobatic jumps, it is quite thrilling. Although the water temps are a little cool (69-70), we did see one nice permit tailing across the flat. Dec. 19th- Went out prospecting and fishing with another local guide. Once again multiple shots at big barracudas and sharks.

Tarpon and Trout Fishing with Pavel and his Dad
Went out fishing today with a father and son duo- both named Pavel. Pavel Sr. is in town from the Czech Republic visiting his son in the Florida Keys. Their goal for this trip was to catch a tarpon and some seatrout. The tarpon were laying low- didn't see any rolling action, but did manage to find a few. Landed a nice tarpon- Pavel's first on the flats. Overall, it was a great day with a tarpon, some trout, jacks, and snapper. The weather was awesome- warm and in the 80's. Th
